Operation Wedding is a documentary about a small group of Soviet Jews who – out of desperation – attempted to hijack a plane to reach Israel. Their arrest, trials, and harsh sentences sparked international outcry.

This pivotal moment not only contributed to the eventual release of the accused but also brought unprecedented global attention to the broader struggle of Soviet Jews seeking the right to live freely.

Our program features highlights from a panel discussion exploring the film’s historical impact and enduring relevance.
